Our Other Babette

Mikayla gets in more of the pictures because she'll actually stop moving long enough to snap one.  Maylee, on the other hand, never stops going and is harder to catch.  Her ensembles (or lack thereof) are just as good as Mikayla's most of the time-just a different genre.

Fancy Nancy's Competition

We told Mikayla we were going on a date and she asked if she should get "fancied up".  Is getting fancy ever a bad idea?  She went to dinner just like this.

3 Months

At 3 months Daxton loves...

To eat.  All.The.Time.
To smile.  He smiles with his whole body and it's adorable.  He's going to be a heart breaker!  Most of the time when he's smiling and happy he is cooing away.  His favorite time to talk is after the girls go to bed.  It hasn't taken him long to figure out when he can be best heard!
Bath time.
Eating his fists.
The swing.
To be cuddled.
To be tickled.
Love our little man more than I thought possible!

Yard Sale

Mikayla loves to go to yard sales and playing yard sale is one of my girls' favorite things to do.  I think it's because it's a legitimate excuse to get out every toy they own and dump it on the floor.  Mikayla takes a lot of time to set up her displays on towels and blankets.  It's kind of adorable.  They come by it honestly-just ask Mikayla where she gets any of her clothes and she'll tell you "a lady's house".  We are yard sale fans around here.
Every good yard sale ends in a dance party, right?

One of Those Moments

I know I've talked about it before, sometimes time just seems to stop and all is right in the world to me.  The pictures I happen to snap in those moments are my favorite of all time, even though they may not be the most perfect picture, the moment was perfect.  This was one of those times.

Best day EVER!

When Dustin asked what I wanted for my birthday I told him all I wanted was a nap.  Well, I got a nap and so much more!  My Mom came about 10:00 a.m. the day before my birthday and gave me a note from Dustin.  It told me to grab my wallet and keys and an adventure was about to begin.  I was sent on a scavenger hunt starting with getting a drink at Circle K, then to get a pedicure (they were too busy so I got a rain check on that one).  After each place I would text him and he'd tell me where in the car my next clue was hidden.  Next up were a massage, lunch and I was sent to a hotel.  I got a nap, then when Dustin got off work we headed to dinner and to get dessert.  We both fell asleep pretty early, but were awakened by a bus load of teenagers about half an hour later.  They were up until the wee hours of the morning.  We were so frustrated, but oh well.

When we got home the next morning my parents had not only watched the kids for us, but my Mom had cleaned the whole house and made me a birthday cake.  I couldn't even believe it.  I was so happy and so, so spoiled.  I don't think I've ever felt more loved before.
Cake and a lemonade tea party.
Foot massages from my girls!
A happy baby boy for his Mom's birthday.
Mikayla was so excited that it was my birthday so when Maylee went down for a nap Mikayla and I headed out for a girl's date.  We went and looked at toys at Wal-Mart and Target, then picked up a pizza and headed home for a pizza picnic in the park.  After the kids went down Dustin and I watched Saving Mr. Banks together and loved it.  It was the perfect day (until Mikayla threw up everywhere that night, but that's minor in comparison!).  I am one lucky gal.
Mikayla said she had a present for me from her purse and this is what she gave me...
I guess even my 4 year old thinks I'm getting old!

Happy Guy

Daxton is a totally different baby these days.  For the most part he is so happy!  He is smiling and cooing like crazy.  He seriously will lay there smiling and cooing at you for 10 or 15 minutes straight.  It's adorable.  I could listen to him "talk" and watch his smile all day long!
