Our little Maylee is getting bigger and cuter by the day! She is a happy baby 95% of the time and loves to cuddle. Couldn't ask for more!

A Perfect Moment
Ever have one of those moments when time seems to stand still and for that brief moment all seems right in the world?
A moment of pure bliss?
This was one of those moments for me.

2 Years 8 Months
That would be the age at which Mikayla got her first haircut-2 years and 8 months to the day. It was time.
Let's get a little before and after action. All of the before and afters were taken on the same day.
Before:
The front. Side note: Mikayla put her own shorts on and I still cannot figure out what she did. Check out the back shot of the same shorts episode.
The back. This was an especially nasty tangled day, but it was still bad on a good day.
This would be the moment of complete craziness on my part. No-I have NO idea how to cut hair. I have NO idea whether her hair is straight at all. In fact, I'm pretty sure it's not.
The after:
She thinks she's hot stuff so that's all that matters!
It totally ended up shorter than I was thinking, but let's take a moment and reflect on what her hair looked like in the before pictures, especially in the back shot. It was straggly! It had to be done.
While most kids have a lock of beautiful baby hair to put in their baby books Mikayla will have her nice nasty toddler tangles to add to hers!
Now, since we seem to be into comparisons around here lately take a look at a picture of me when I was a toddler compared to Mikayla...
Pretty crazy!

Sistery Love Take 2
Remember this post? Not much has changed. Here's the pictures from a recent swimming adventure to prove it!
How hard is it to at least PRETEND your sister exists?!?
I was all excited to take the girls swimming, but the water was a wee bit colder than we would've like.
Maylee spent her time in the water looking like this.
Mikayla preferred the hose.
We tried.

Moses
On Sunday Dustin asked Mikayla what she wanted our Family Home Evening Lesson for last night to be about. She responded "Moses" and earned herself the job of teaching the lesson for her very first time.
A 47 second lesson. Just the way we like it!

Catch Up
Here's a whole bunch of randomness from the last few weeks...
Mikayla's new pastime is shopping for new houses. She gets her little keyboard and mouse, sits in her office (the blanket basket) and stares in front of her pretending she's looking at a computer screen. She looks for purple houses with lots of potties and shafa's (showers). I think this all stemmed from being devastated over the destruction of the trailer at the Marm and wanting a new house there. Gotta say-it's a pretty serious task for her and some pretty serious laughs from us when she gets busy shopping!
We train 'em young around here!
A sick day for the family=desperate need of entertainment for a 2 year-old. We set up a store for her and she was good to go for the day!
Waiting at the end of the driveway by herself for Grandad to pick her up for a sleepover at the grandparent's house.
Dad's socks.
Big smiles from our cute girl-almost always with her tongue sticking out.
When I'm trying to get a smile on camera from Maylee you can rest assured Mikayla will be close by trying to get attention...
Her new favorite book is "New Baby"-a book that was mine when I was young. It's about a boy who is jealous of his new baby sister. It fits.
Forts!
Chores!
Destructo Crew!
Over Labor day parents decided to demolish the trailer at the Marm because it was falling apart and they needed to put the new trailer where the old one was. Luckily we have lots of hard working boys in the family to help!
The best "before" picture I have-this is with all the siding and awnings off.
Supervisors.
Getting some playing time in.
Grandpa at work on his backhoe.
More supervision.
Dustin getting a lift to put a chain through the roof so Grandpa could pull it down.
Coming down...
Down! With the victory cheer from Dustin!
No more trailer! Mikayla is quite stressed about the whole situation because the "Marm" is one of her favorite places on Earth to go, but we keep trying to tell her that there's going to be a new house at the Marm and all will be well again.
