We've only been in the house for 2 1/2 months, but man we've made some progress on the front and backyards, especially the backyard! Dustin's been trying to juggle working on our yard, his grandma's yard and my grandma's yard all at the same time. He's pretty incredible! Thank goodness for my Dad's tractor and Dustin's muscles because we would still be shoveling gravel and dirt if it weren't for them. In the time that we've been here we've moved all the gravel (and landscape carpet under the front and back yard gravel areas) that was here from previous owners, put in cement, boulders, plants, irrigation, moved a whole bunch of dirt around for mounding, etc., had artificial turf installed, and put the gravel back in around the new patio and grass area. I'm sure there's a ton more that's been done and Dustin could tell you every detail, but that's what comes my to mind right off. Here are some before and after progress pictures. Dustin's already planted more plants and placed a bunch of boulders since I took these after pictures on Saturday, but for now he's the update...
Front yard:
We are still going to add a tree on the left side of the picture on the big island in the front yard, but it's much better than the elephant graveyard it was when we moved in!
(don't mind the gopher, or "ogre" as Maylee calls them, holes-Dustin is on a hunt!)

I can't get this picture to rotate, but I love our handprints in the cement. I especially love Dustin's pinkie fingerprint...his pinkies are bent and I love how you can only see the tip of his pinkie because none of the rest of his finger doesn't lay flat. Totally random fact, but he was born with bent pinkies because the tendons are too short. Apparently it's genetic and skips every 7 generations.
