Maylee's Birthday

Maylee turned 4!  She was pretty excited for her birthday and had a very specific cake she wanted in mind and made sure it was perfect before she gave me the thumbs up for it.  Per her request we had corn dogs for dinner and played in the water at her party.  Maylee is turning into such a spunky, sassy, fun-loving girl.  She is way into being fancy all of a sudden and insists as soon as she wakes up that she gets dressed, has her hair done, and when she's lucky gets to wear a little bit of make up.  She loves to cuddle, play dress-ups (she requested her very own dress-ups for her birthday), go on dates, read, bite her nails, play dolls and house, go swimming, wear her shoes on the wrong feet, play outside, and throw an occasional 'life's not fair' fit.  Maylee has a great sense of humor and makes life so much fun!
She kept asking when she would be old enough to have light up shoes.  Grandad and Nana came through for her and she feels pretty stinkin' important in her shoes!
On the day of her party she asked Dustin if they could practice blowing out candles because she was scared of them.  After all their practicing she didn't even bat an eye and blew them right out!

I made the kids take some pictures after I took Maylee's birthday pictures and Daxton was totally hamming it up.  We couldn't stop laughing at all his smiling and posing!

Getting Settled

We are settled in and loving living in St. David.  It's been a much-needed change for our family and we are enjoying every minute.  The weather here is just enough cooler that we are enjoying being outside so much more than when we lived in Marana.  We love living with the Carters, but poor Evelyn will probably be ready for some personal space by the time we are done living here.  Our kids adore her just a little too much!  Here are some of our adventures in the first few weeks here.
