Independence Day!

For the holiday we headed down to Benson to visit the Marm.  We love going down there for the 4th of July and doing all the "small town" festivities, not to mention our kids love the Marm!  Since the 4th was on Saturday Dustin had an extra day off of work on Friday that included fishing trips to Grandpa's pond, rides at the Marm and just being lazy!  On the actual holiday we went to the parade, water "tug of war" with the firefighters and their hoses at the park, had a BBQ, and went to the awesome fireworks.  It was a long, fun day, but luckily the weather cooperated and it was pretty cool for most of the day.
The girls went down earlier on Thursday with my Dad and were THRILLED to be riding in the truck next to Baylee!
The next day we headed to St. David for some fun with cousins!

Maylee is 3!

Maylee has been waiting SO long for her "duckie" birthday and the big day finally came.  We played in the water and had fun visiting with family.  Grandad beautifully stole the show by buying baby ducks for her party.  Maylee is obsessed with her "baby chickies".  She loves them {almost} to death!  Every chance she gets she cuddles them and says "they be so cute to me".

For her cake she requested a "Mommy duckie and a baby duckie with heart candies and big yellow sprinkles."  I think we did pretty well making it happen, although for some reason she refused to blow out any of her candles.  When she opened gifts a whole new side of Maylee I had never seen came out.  Usually in crowds she is pretty shy, but she totally stole the show on her birthday.  After each gift she would go to the same spot in the playroom and say "Everybody say HOORAY!" then "Everybody clap your hands!" She would do this for each present she opened and it was adorable.  After watching her so happy and excited I would say the day was a success!
