27!

Dustin and I love having birthdays a week apart.  It makes March so much fun!

My birthday was pretty chill.  Dustin sang to me and brought me breakfast in bed before heading off to work.
Then the girls and I went to see The Croods with my Mom in the morning and of course they both conked out during the movie for a few minutes, which meant no naps for anyone later and crabby girls.  We survived though and declared it a stay at home evening.
The movie theater is going out of business so they had $1 popcorn and drinks.  Mikayla was in heaven!

When Dustin got home he and the girls made me a birthday cake that he found by looking up Reese's and cream cheese (two of my most favorite ingredients for baked goods).

I looked over at one point to see Maylee helping herself to the mashed Oreos.  That girl is trouble!
In case you're wondering about her beautiful outfit she had a blowout and this is the outfit Mikayla found when I asked her to bring me a new outfit for Maylee.  It's a nightie from when I was a baby.
My presents were the tools and hardware that Dustin needs to make us a sliding barn door for our bathroom.  We only have an opening and no door to our bathroom (with our despised glass door shower) so I am really excited for the new door!
My cake!  I was totally impressed.  It was DELICIOUS!

Maren, Dustin, myself, and Jake all have birthdays in just under two months so my parents decided to take us all out for one big birthday dinner instead of trying to go for everyone's birthdays.  It was such a fun evening!
My Mom had a bunch of coupons for free slices of cheesecake at Cheesecake Factory so we were all livin' the high life with our own slice of cheesecake.  Best treat EVER!
Thanks for the fun memories, Mom and Dad!

Lucky Day

Maylee started doing this monkey stance on Friday.
Then on St. Patty's Day with a little encouragement from some food bribery she started crawling!

To celebrate the holiday we had green eggs and ham for breakfast, which Mikayla informed me was gross.

Who stole the cookies from the cookie jar?

You can't take your eyes off Maylee for a split second when it comes to food!  This girl knows what she wants!

30!

Our Dad had a birthday!

For his birthday breakfast he got a waffle Barbie cake, complete with a whipped cream dress!  Mikayla really thought he needed a Barbie cake, but he wanted an Eclair dessert and that wasn't going to hold up a Barbie so we improvised!  We got some great laughs out of this one!
Mikayla was pretty much devastated when she asked who was coming to Dad's birthday party and we told her just us.  We improvised and threw together a little party for him and invited our families who were very kind to come and play along.
Maylee helped decorate.

We had tacos for dinner when everyone got here and then had the ultimate Nerf gun war (because what 30 year-old would want to celebrate his birthday any differently?).
Grammy even got in on the fun of shooting balloons!
Mikayla had been talking for weeks about the blue sparkly glasses she wanted to get her Dad for his birthday.  Lucky for him these ones won out at the dollar store.
Cake!

We sure love our Dad!

Showin' the Love!

How do you show your sister you love her?
At our house it tends to involve throwing things in her crib when she wakes up from a nap.
Naturally, things like a stroller and the potty stool are the first things that come to mind.
We also have a love affair going on with Lolo's curly hair...
"I love Lolo's curly hair, Mom!"  I hear that about a million times a day.
We love accessories.
And dressing ourselves.
We love to hang out with grandparents!
And sister loves her food.

Zoo Trip

We went to the zoo with Mammy and our cousins and had a great time!
Mikayla really wanted to wear her flip flops around to the zoo, but I knew they would hurt her feet after a while so I talked her into wearing boots instead.  No one could be left behind though so she carried her flip flops the whole time at the zoo and put them on as soon as we got in the car after the zoo.
This lion totally came and just laid down by Maylee, then all of a sudden got on her back feet and screeched her claws all the way down the window while roaring.  A ton of people came to see what was going on and of course, Maylee just looked at them like "What's the big deal?" and Mikayla was scared for her life. :)
Maylee was content riding in the wagon and chewing on her shoe the whole time.  I love my happy baby!

Train 'em young!

Happy Heart

It makes this Mom pretty darn happy to look back and see this in the car...

Eagle Project

At the beginning of February we got to "help" with my cousin Josh's eagle project, which was building fence at a local park.  Dustin was a lot of help.  The girls and I?  Not so much.  We were moral support or something of that sort.
Our wagon is seriously the best babysitter ever.  Maylee will sit in it and play for literally hours.  She loves it!
