Dustin had an extra day off over the 4th of July and we debated about what to do, but decided on staying home and doing some things that we don't usually do like go to the movies and out to eat. It turned out to be a good decision because we ended up with sick and grouchy kids over the weekend and it would have not been fun to travel with them!
Our weekend of fun started a little early when we woke up on Wednesday after a storm to find our playset had been blown over. We were devastated because it hadn't been up that long and it was a pretty big investment-not to mention the girls love it! Luckily my Dad came early in the morning and helped Dustin set it back on its feet. Much to our amazement there were only a few boards really destroyed. The slide had been blown off and over the wall and the monkey bars bent, but other than that the set was in pretty good shape, considering. My Dad and Dustin impressively were able to lift up the playset by themselves. It was all a miracle in my eyes. A couple inches further and our wall would've been destroyed and who knows what else could have gone wrong.
I love these pictures. Mikayla had been counting down the days until Dad could stay home for 4 days in a row. Pure excitement when he walked through the door!
I already posted the pictures from the 4th, but the rest of the weekend was full of family time and it was awesome.
Movie night picnic.
Date with Dad to Home Depot's kid's workshop to make Lucy's car from Despicable Me 2.
Snot-nosed girlies!
Okay, so this is the outfit Mikayla wore to church. Glasses and angel costume headband included.
Life is good!
