Favorite Things-Mom

I feel like my favorite things are pretty boring, but here it is anyway.

I'm pretty sure if I could get all my groceries from Amazon along with everything else I find there I would never leave the house again.

Rain gutter bookshelves.  Probably the only online project we've done that I love everything about.  The kids love them, I love them.  It works for us.

My Mom's friend made this forget me not charm for me and it's one of my all-time favorites.  It was made after President Uchdorf's talk called "Forget Me Not" and is a good reminder to me of the things mentioned in that talk.

31 Organizing tote with zipper.  The perfect diaper bag for multiple kiddos with 5 outside pockets to hold drinks!  They have sales often where you can pretty much get two for the price of one.

Anything with peanut butter and chocolate is a winner in my book.  A match made in heaven.  These are a couple of my favorites!

Chef'n brand spatulas.  These puppies are durable and they work!  You can find them cheaper in stores.

I know it's silly, but this little fan has saved my life.  Literally.  Dustin trekked to Wal-Mart and got it as a surprise for me when I was pregnant with Daxton because I was so stinkin' hot and now it has a permanent home on my night stand.

Kitchen scissors are the new knives.  I cut everything with these puppies, especially food for the kiddos.

Blurb books.  I am obsessed.  I take a gazillion pictures (obviously) and I enjoy putting the pictures into scrapbooks for the kids and a blog book for us.  Just recently the kids have gotten into looking at them more often and it makes my heart happy.

LÄMPLIG Trivet IKEA Plastic feet prevent surfaces from being scratched.
This is totally random, but I have this trivet from Ikea and it is absolutely perfect for putting curling irons and straighteners on in the bathroom without them burning everything they touch.
Speaking of curling irons, this wand is the only thing that will curl Mikayla's hair and the curls literally stay in all day long.  I haven't mastered it on my hair yet, but it's the best ever for thin wispy hair.

Lastly, we can't talk about "things" without mentioning my sidekick.  My Canon D60.  It goes almost everywhere with me and documents every big and little happening in our lives.

Our Little Beast

Daxton is huge.  Everyone who holds him comments on the fact that he is "a beast", "solid", "huge", "chunky"...you name it.  We take him in Thursday to find out his official six month stats, but until then we will just confirm he is a big boy.  People always ask me if it's different having a boy after the girls and I would say the biggest difference is that Daxton is super wild and so strong.  He never stops moving and it completely wears me out to hold him for very long.  He's a beast, but an adorable beast!

4th of July

We had planned to just have a chill day at home for the 4th, but when Mikayla came running into our room at 5:15 a.m. and yelled "Happy 4th of July!" I knew we had to do something fun.  We decided just in time for everything to start to head down to Benson and go to the parade and festivities.  It turned into a perfect day.  Grandma Kartchner joined us for the parade, then we went to the Marm to swim in the water trough, had a BBQ, ate cake for America's birthday, and watched fireworks later that evening.  Just as we were finishing up dinner it started to rain and it didn't stop until after fireworks.  It was amazing!  When we left Benson after the fireworks it was 69 degrees-on the 4th of July!

Just another day at the office.

These kids love visiting Grandad and Nana's office.  Prizes galore.

The Ball

Auntie Maren and Uncle Jake's brother was getting married and Maren told Mikayla it was going to be a ball.  Of course that meant we all needed to go to the ball in formal wear.  A Belle dress up was the only answer for her look. Mikayla informed me "we are going to be the fanciest ones there!"
Dustin about died when he saw Mikayla all done up because she looked so grown up!  After she got dressed Mikayla told me that "I will be dancing with Grandad and you have to find someone else to dance with!"
When Sissy gets her hair done Maylee always wants hers done, as well.  We have to get creative with trying to make it look fancy like Sissy's hair because there isn't a lot to work with!
These girls danced the night away and loved every minute of it.  Maylee would twirl and twirl and then randomly slide across the floor.  It was hilarious!
