Christmas In October

I post about it every year, but Christmas in October really is one of our favorite days.  It is our annual get together with the Kartchner side of the family.  This year the day was the same as Butterfield Days in Benson we went to the parade for that then we headed off to Grandpa's pond for Christmas in October. We start off the day with hamburgers and homemade rootbeer.  The rest of the afternoon is spent doing a service project (this year was care packages and a fleece blanket for kids in the hospital), searching for coins in the sand pile, playing with cousins, enjoying the pond, sugar cookies, a pinata, cousin gift exchange, the grown ups do white elephant gifts, and we always end the day with pie and ice cream.  It is so much fun and I've got a gazillion pictures to prove it!
